SAR Rescues Injured Hiker near Foggy Lake

Granite Falls, Wash. – On Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit and volunteers from Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue rescued an injured woman from the Foggy Lake area east of Granite Falls.  The 32 year-old Seattle woman was with a group of 5 other hikers on Saturday afternoon when she fell on the trail and struck her head on a rock.  It was initially believed to be a minor head injury but her condition worsened overnight.  A member of the group was able to text 911 and request help Sunday morning.  The injured woman was hoisted out by SnoHAWK 10 and was transported to an area hospital by aid car Sunday afternoon. 

Search and Rescue Sergeant, 1 deputy pilot, 1 volunteer pilot, 1 volunteer flight medic, 1 volunteer crew chief, as well as 1 volunteer rescue technician responded.
