Leavenworth, Wash. – On Sunday, SnoHawk 10 and the helicopter rescue team responded to Chelan County to rescue an injured climber at Snow Creek Wall near Leavenworth. A 23 year-old male from Lake Stevens fell approximately 50 feet down a climbing wall and sustained a head injury. The male was unconscious at the base of the wall with 5 other climbers. SnoHawk 10 responded and delivered a rescue technician and flight medic to the area where the man was located. The rescuers had to tie in to keep from falling due to the terrain. While on-scene a boulder fell from above, fortunately missing the crew. The rescuers were able to administer an IV to the injured man and hoist him out. He was airlifted to Harborview Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
