Adult Male Bicyclist Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 5, 2017 GRANITE FALLS, Wash. – A man riding a bicycle on SR 92 (W Stanley St) in Granite Falls this evening was struck by an SUV, and the bicyclist was lodged under the vehicle. The female SUV driver called 911 after she struck the man at the 300 block of W Stanley St around 4:40 p.m. The male, believed to be in his 50's, was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center with life threatening injuries where he later died. The roadway was closed for over an hour.
The driver cooperated with deputies on-scene for the investigation. At this time, there do not appear to be any contributing factors leading to the cause of the collision (alcohol, drugs, speed, etc.) except that the roadway was dark and the victim was wearing dark clothing.
Identification of the deceased, as well as cause and manner of death, will be confirmed by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner. ##
