Male Found Deceased near Skykomish River FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 1, 2018 CONTACT: Shari Ireton, Director of Communications, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office shari.ireton@snoco.org, 425-388-3377, Media line: 425-249-6263 GOLD BAR, Wash. – A deceased male was found earlier today on the banks of the Skykomish River just downstream of Big Eddy Park. He is believed to be a 44 year-old homeless man who has been living at a site along the river for several years. The body was discovered around 10 a.m. by a relative of the man, who went looking for him after not having heard from him for several days. Sheriff’s Office patrol units and personnel from Fire District 26 responded. The body will be recovered after the Medical Examiner has investigated the scene. Results of the Sheriff’s Office death investigation will be pending the determination of the cause and manner of death, as well as confirmation of the decedent’s identification, by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
