SULTAN, Wash. – A 50 year-old man was seriously injured today after a tree fell on the truck he was driving near milepost 8 on Sultan Basin Rd. The incident was reported to 911 around 8:30 a.m.  High winds in the area were felling trees onto the roadway, which is near an active logging operation.  Aid units and sheriff’s deputies arrived and extracted the man from his truck. He was airlifted to Harborview Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.  The road will be closed for several hours due to high winds, downed trees, and the collision investigation.
