Suspect Flees on Foot after Causing Serious Collision in Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD, Wash. – Just after 7:50 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene of a hit and run near the intersection of 178th and Larch Way. A deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle, had initial contact with the driver and when he returned to his motorcycle, the vehicle sped away. The driver swerved around a truck and collided with a passenger vehicle in the oncoming lane causing a serious collision. The suspect fled the scene on foot. A containment of the area was set up and K9 responded to the scene. The suspect, a 24 year-old Lynnwood man, was not located.
An adult male and adult female in the oncoming vehicle were both transported by aid to the hospital.
Larch Way remained closed for several hours. This is an ongoing investigation.
