SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – At 12:20 p.m. yesterday, the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) arrested a 43 year-old Everett man for first-degree rape and first-degree kidnapping.
On April 28 around 5:45 p.m., north county patrol deputies responded to a sexual assault in the 12400 block of Sunny Shores Rd in Marysville. Patrol deputies learned that the victim was kidnapped in downtown Marysville, driven to the location, and sexually assaulted at gunpoint. The case was immediately forwarded to Special Investigations Unit (SIU) detectives. Over the course of five days, detectives interviewed several witnesses, interviewed the victim and wrote multiple search warrants. SIU worked collaboratively with VOTF to identify the suspect.
Yesterday afternoon, VOTF briefly spotted the suspect driving his vehicle in north Everett before losing sight of him. They searched the area and located the suspect near Broadway and Everett Ave. VOTF contacted the suspect and took him into custody without incident. The 43 year-old Everett man was transported to the Snohomish County Jail where he was booked for first-degree rape and first-degree kidnapping.
