CIU Detectives Seek the Public’s Help with Fatal Motorcycle Crash Investigation

SNOHOMISH, Wash. – Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit detectives responded to single-vehicle fatal crash in the 15000 block of Old Snohomish Monroe Road around 3 p.m. Sunday. A motorcycle lost control, left the roadway and crashed into heavy brush. The sole occupant, a 36-year-old Monroe man, died at the scene. 

CIU detectives are still working to determine the cause of the crash, but at this time it is believed the crash happened late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. During the investigation, detectives learned the victim had been out with friends on First Street in Snohomish prior to the crash. Detectives are asking anyone who was with the victim to come forward to assist with narrowing down the exact time he was last seen. 

Detectives also believe the victim may have just passed, or been in the process of passing, a vehicle when he left the roadway and crashed. If you or anyone you know witnessed this occur, please contact Detective Monson at with any information. 

Positive identification of the decedent, as well as cause and manner of death, will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
