UPDATE 9/24/2021:

The 54-year-old Granite Falls man was released from Harborview Medical Center on Wednesday. He was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for four Felony Violations of a No Contact Order, one count of First-Degree Animal Cruelty, and two counts of Assault 4 DV.



Major Crimes Unit Detectives Investigate Granite Falls Shooting

GRANITE FALLS, Wash. – Around 4:10 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 31500 block of Rivershore Lane. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, a 54-year-old Granite Falls man, with a gunshot wound to his head. The victim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. A 20-year-old Granite Falls man was detained and interviewed by detectives.  

 

During the investigation, Major Crimes Unit (MCU) detectives learned the 54-year-old arrived at the residence violating a court order, began making threats towards the 20-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, and killed their dog. The verbal altercation turned physical as the 54-year-old man made his way into the residence and the 20-year-old man shot the 54-year-old Granite Falls man inside the home.

 

The parties are known to each other and there is no threat to the public. At this time, no arrests have been made. Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate the incident.
