Major Crimes Unit Detectives Investigate Shooting in Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD, Wash. - Around 11:40 a.m., deputies responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of 164th St SW. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, a 22-year-old man, with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by aid to Harborview Medical Center. He is expected to survive. 


The suspect, a 36-year-old man, fled the scene in his vehicle. Shortly after, deputies located him, and a short pursuit ensued before the suspect fled on foot near McCollum Park on 128th St SE. Deputies set up containment around the area and a K-9 unit responded to the scene. The K-9 team successfully located the suspect hiding behind a residence. The 36-year-old suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.  


Major Crimes Unit (MCU) detectives responded to the scene to investigate. Detectives are still working to determine what led up to the shooting, but believe the victim and suspect are known to each other. 


This remains an active investigation.
