Suspect in custody after Granite Falls Shooting

GRANITE FALLS, Wash.?– The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting in the 21100 block of Gun Club Road. At approximately 11:00 a.m. a witness called 911 to report a 27 year old man with multiple gunshot wounds. The shooter, identified as a 22 year old Mount Vernon man, fled the scene in a vehicle.  

 

Deputies arrived at the location and attempted to perform life saving measures on the victim, however he died at the scene. Deputies located the suspect traveling though Granite Falls. They made a traffic stop on the vehicle and arrested the suspect without incident.  

 

The victim and the suspect are not known to each other and they had a verbal altercation prior to the shooting.  

 

Major Crimes Detectives are actively investigating the incident.  

 

The cause and manner of death, as well as the identification of the victim, will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
