CIU Investigates DUI Crash Injuring 6-year-old

MONROE, Wash. – Around 10 p.m. Saturday, Sheriff’s Office deputies and Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives responded to a single-vehicle rollover collision in the 21400 block of Woods Creek Road. When deputies arrived, they found a 6-year-old passenger with an arm injury. The child was transported by aid to the hospital. The driver, a 31-year-old woman, was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and vehicular assault. She was transported to the hospital for a clearance to book and a blood search warrant. 


Patrol deputies requested assistance and Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives responded to the scene. 


Child Protective Services was contacted, and the child was placed in the custody of family members. The 31-year-old driver was transported and booked into the Snohomish County Jail. 


The road was closed Saturday night while detectives investigated the crash. This is an active investigation.
