Major Crimes Detectives Seek the Public’s Help in Solving 1985 Cold Case Homicide

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help in solving the 1985 cold case homicide of 19-year-old Tira Snyder. On July 1, 1985, Tira was found dead in her home near Lake Roesiger. She had arrived home after grocery shopping with her 6-month-old child. While inside, she was shot multiple times with a 22 caliber pistol. Tira was discovered later that evening when her husband returned home from work. Their 6-month-old daughter was still inside the vehicle parked in the driveway. She was unharmed.
