EDMONDS, Wash. – Just before 7 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 16400 block of 48th Place W. Upon arrival, deputies located an adult female deceased at the scene. Two other victims, an adult male and an adult female, were transported by aid to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, a 31-year-old Marysville man, was fleeing the scene as deputies arrived. Deputies pursued the suspect vehicle for a short time before the suspect bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot. K-9 units responded and WSP’s air unit, Smokey, responded to assist. The air unit located the suspect hiding nearby and he was taken into custody without further incident.

Two young children were also in the home at the time of the shooting. They were uninjured. They were cared for off-site by law enforcement until Child Protective Services responded to assist with temporary placement for the children.

Detectives believe the suspect arrived at the location and gained entry into the home before shooting the three adults inside. The suspect then took a vehicle registered to the home and fled from the scene.

This suspect is believed to also be involved in a homicide in Marysville that occurred around 4 a.m. this morning.

This is an active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 425-388-3845.
