Evergreen State Fair Takes Home WA Fair Association Photography Awards
The Evergreen State Fair collected eleven ribbons for photography at the annual WSFA Convention
Monroe, Wash., Nov. 15, 2016 – The Washington State Fairs Association annual convention came to a close October 29, 2016 in Vancouver, WA with The Evergreen State Fair taking home 11 ribbons from the photography contest, including the top B&W photograph. The Evergreen State Fair entered 43 photos from six photographers: Chantal Waltman, Molly Ottele, Cheri Moss, Joshua Von Jentzen, Amanda Gauthier, and Brielle Dodge. Molly Ottele’s photo of Ed Miller holding a piglet at the sow and litter display (attached) was the B&W champion of the entire competition.
During the WSFA convention, each member fair is encouraged to enter some of their best photography from that year’s fair. This year WSFA received 291 photo entries from 11 fairs. A total of 50 ribbons were awarded in 16 categories on a variety of fair related themes.
Each year many photographs are taken on behalf of the Evergreen State Fairgrounds for promotion, public use, and historical documentation. Following the 2016 Evergreen State Fair, the Evergreen State Fairgrounds compiled thousands of photos and picked the photos that best represented the values and mission of the Evergreen State Fairgrounds.
