Snohomish County Councilmember Ken Klein to Join Executive Office
EVERETT, Wash., November 30, 2016—Today, Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers announced that County Councilmember Ken Klein has accepted an Executive Director position, focusing on technology, facilities, and other important county responsibilities.
“We have worked closely with Ken over the last few years and appreciate his collaborative sensibility, hard work, and creative policy-making,” said Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers. “Ken has expertise in some of the most pressing issues for Snohomish County, including the challenge of fiscal sustainability, the courthouse, homelessness, the heroin epidemic, and public safety. We are looking forward to having his leadership and energy on our team.”
Ken will be starting in January 2017 and will resign his County Council seat on December 31, 2016. In addition, Council Aide Alessandra Durham will be joining the Executive Team.
“It is the honor of a lifetime to serve the people of Snohomish County, and I am excited to take on this new leadership role,” said Councilmember Klein. “We have much work to do over the next few years to maintain fiscally responsible budgets, lessen the impacts of the heroin epidemic, and improve public safety. I appreciate the opportunity to join Executive Somer’s team as we continue to plan for the extraordinary growth that our region is facing.”
The Snohomish County Executive Office manages 13 diverse departments from Human Services to Parks and Recreation, Planning and Development to Emergency Management and Public Works. Snohomish County employs 2819 full time staff.
