Snohomish County Breaks Ground on Aerial Adventure Course and Zipline
EVERETT, Snohomish County, February 3, 2017—Today at 3:00 p.m., Snohomish County will hold a groundbreaking at the Paine Field Community Park to begin work on Snohomish County’s first Aerial Adventure Course and Zipline. Once built, the Course will be managed by High Trek Ventures of Redmond, WA.
“This is an ideal public-private partnership that will deliver another exciting recreational opportunity for our community and also generate revenue for our parks system,” said Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers. “I’m a big fan of ziplines and look forward to the fun.”
High Trek Ventures will invest approximately $1.25 million in the course and Snohomish County expects to receive nearly half a million dollars in revenue and in kind contributions from the lease agreement over the next 12 years.
“The Aerial Adventure Course will be a valuable addition to Snohomish County’s already rich tourism offerings,” said Snohomish County Council Chair Brian Sullivan. “We expect this new adventure course will increase tourism to Paine Field and help us strengthen our local economy.”
