Artwork Announced for the 109th Evergreen State Fair

Monroe, Wash., February 16, 2017 – Snohomish County’s Evergreen State Fair is one of the oldest and most popular traditions to celebrate the end of summer in the region. So why is it talked about in February? Because many exhibitors, artists, and superintendents are already planning, designing, and creating what they will enter for the fair based on the design of the annual fair theme.

The 2017 theme, “Harvest the Memories,” was inspired by the many generations of traditions that have been created at the fairgrounds while highlighting the original purpose of the fair—celebrating agriculture. Many departments at the fair have a special ribbon awarded to exhibitors who excel at incorporating the annual fair theme into their submission. So this year as you visit the fair to create memories with your loved ones, take a special look at the quilts, photos, foods, floral arrangements, barn décor, and other exhibits to see how the annual fair theme is represented. And if you’re feeling extra daring, try entering an item of your own!

This year’s artists of the annual fair theme are Nathan and Katherine Yoder from Edmonds, WA. To view more artwork from the artists, visit http://yondrstudio.com or https://society6.com/katherineyoder. For more information about the Evergreen State Fair visit http://www.evergreenfair.org/.
