Snohomish County’s Free Preschool Program Begins Recruiting
EVERETT, Wash., March 31, 2017—Beginning in April 2017, the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) begins recruiting children to fill openings at 21 locations in Snohomish County. The free preschool is offered to three- and four-year-olds from low-income families.
The following free services are provided to eligible families:
- Literacy, math, art, science and field trips for children;
- Health screenings and referrals for children; and
- Information for parents about local resources, opportunities for parent education, family fun nights, volunteerism in the program, and opportunities for community leadership.
Snohomish County will distribute flyers to community organizations and businesses and will contact income-eligible families by mail.
The Snohomish County Human Services Department helps all persons meet their basic needs and develop their potential by providing timely, effective human services and building community. The Early Learning Division engages in respectful partnerships with family members and community groups to nurture the development, education and overall well-being of young children. We provide educational experiences that cultivate the potential of the whole child. We provide family support, parent involvement and parent education that values diversity and builds on the strengths of each child and family.
