Snohomish County Parks will be closing 2.6 miles of the Whitehorse Regional Trail indefinitely due to significant earth movement approximately 1 mile east of its junction with the Centennial Trail in Arlington. The trail was scheduled to be resurfaced and officially opened this fall, and Parks will be working with RCO grant staff to utilize the resurfacing grant funds on a different section of trail. Parks staff has contacted Geology staff from Public Works and will be working closely with them to assess the earth movement. We will also work on finding funds for engineering and construction to repair and reinforce approximately 1400 feet of trail and embankment (rough estimate as of now).
