Snohomish County Reaffirms Commitment to Cybersecurity Awareness
Executive and Council commit county to participation in nationwide awareness program
EVERETT, Wash., October 1, 2018 – Today the Snohomish County Council and Executive signed a joint resolution to recognize October as CyberSecurity Awareness Month. The Snohomish County Council first proclaimed October as cyberSecurity month in 2017. Today, the county continues its goal of maintaining the security of technology and data.
In 2018, the 15th annual National CyberSecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) will highlight user awareness while addressing specific challenges and identifying opportunities for behavioral change. In addition, NCSAM 2018 will shine a spotlight on the critical need to build a strong, cyber secure workforce to help ensure families, communities, businesses and the country’s infrastructure are better protected.
Securing the internet is a shared responsibility. The public is asked to join the county as it supports National CyberSecurity Awareness Month and help everyone learn to use the internet safely and more securely.
