Snohomish County Will Close Administration Buildings to Public at 3:00 p.m.

EVERETT, Wash., February 11, 2019 – Snohomish County will close many administration buildings to the public at 3:00 p.m. today, Monday, February 11, due to continuing adverse weather conditions. However, the Snohomish County Courthouse will be open until 5:00 p.m.

Another winter storm is expected to hit Snohomish County this afternoon. With the experience of the last week guiding us, we believe it is important to be cautious. To ensure the safety of the public and our employees, we will close early to allow everyone to get home before dark falls and the roads freeze.

With so many Snohomish County homes heated by electricity, power outages are a major concern, particularly with the forecasts calling for more heavy snowfall. The Snohomish County PUD asks that outages be reported to 425-783-1001 or outagemap.snopud.com.

Snohomish County Road Maintenance crews are fully staffed around the clock, as they have been for the past week, with crews working hard plowing and applying sand/salt mix to our priority roads. Up to 40 plows are scheduled to be working on unincorporated roads at any given time.

County officials continue to urge people to stay off the roads if possible. That not only helps keep the roads clear for crews driving sanding trucks and plows, it also makes it easier for emergency responders to reach people who need immediate help.
