Historic Preservation Commission Announces 2020 Grant Application Round
Applications accepted beginning Nov. 18.
EVERETT, Wash., November 14, 2019 – The Snohomish County Historic Preservation Commission will begin accepting grant applications on Nov. 18, 2019. The grant program supports projects that promote the public’s access to county history. Funds are available through a competitive grant process to public and nonprofit agencies for professional development, public education, capital improvements, or collections enhancement.
Past grant awards have been used for development of books on Snohomish County history, interpretive signage, repair and/or rehabilitation of historic buildings and structures, and the purchase of archival materials and technology for museum collections and digitization of historical newspapers.
Details on eligibility and other program requirements are included in the application package which can be found online. Applications must be filled out and returned to the office of Snohomish County Archaeologist, Gretchen Kaehler (14405 179th Ave. SE, MS 602, Monroe, WA 98272) or emailed to Gretchen.Kaehler@snoco.org by 5 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2020. Applications received after that time will not be considered.

Funding Information:
The Snohomish County Historic Commission grant funds are awarded from recording fees collected by the Snohomish County Auditor. The allocation of these fees are for projects authorized under RCW 36.22.170 to promote historical programs and projects.
