Snohomish County Begins Paving Project in the Kayak Point Area

Road Repairs Scheduled this Summer along Kayak Point Rd and 140th St NW

EVERETT, Wash., May 28, 2021 – Snohomish County Public Works will begin work next week to pave Kayak Point Road (from Marine Drive to 140th St. NW) and 140th St. NW (from Kayak Point Road to 63rd Dr. NW). Crews will also perform pavement repairs at some locations, ensuring a smoother drive for residents and visitors to Kayak Point Regional County Park.

The total length of the project is approximately 2.3 miles. Single lane access will be maintained throughout construction. Some temporary closures may be required at cross streets due to hot pavement that cannot be crossed. Hours of construction are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Construction is scheduled to last through the end of July.

Funding for Rural Road Preservation projects comes from the Federal Surface Transportation Program and the Snohomish County Road Fund. The total project cost is under $1.5 million.
