EVERETT, Wash., September 28, 2022 – With an eye towards improving the north-south commute in one of the fastest growing areas of the county, Snohomish County Public Works has completed the 35th Ave SE Corridor Improvement – Phase II project. Crews made extensive improvements to the corridor between State Route 524 (Maltby Rd) and 180th St SE, including a center turn lane and adding bike lanes, curbs and sidewalks on both sides of the road. This is the third completed project by Snohomish County on the corridor since 2018, including 35th Ave SE – Phase I and Seattle Hill Rd. The public is invited to celebrate this project milestone with a ribbon cutting celebration at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
The county would like to thank funding partners including the Washington State Public Works Board (PWB) and the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) at this event. Construction for the project was funded through a $3 million WA State Public Works Board loan, a $5 million Transportation Improvement Board grant and $3 million from the Snohomish County Road Fund.
The PWB will be including the ribbon cutting in their Snohomish County visit in conjunction with their annual retreat on Thursday, Oct. 6 through Friday, Oct. 7.
