Snohomish County’s 2015 annual Point in Time Count, which documents the number of homeless people in the county, is complete and numbers show a 25 percent drop in homelessness this year compared to last year.
This year, 948 people said they had no permanent place to call home compared to 1,272 people last year.
About 150 volunteers spent Jan. 22 covering the county to document people living on the street, in shelters, in transitional housing and in other situations. Survey participation was voluntary. Local non-profit agencies led the effort and organized the volunteers. The county continued to collect numbers from various community partners for a couple of weeks to complete the count.
