Snohomish County Ranked in the Top Ten Nationally in the Annual Digital Counties Survey
Recognition Highlights County Technology Service Delivery and Innovation
July 9, 2015 - The Center for Digital Government (CDG) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) announced that Snohomish County ranked among the top ten winners in this year’s Digital Counties Survey. The annual survey recognizes leading examples of counties using technology to improve services and boost efficiencies.

The survey, conducted by CDG and the Digital Communities program, in partnership with NACo,
identifies best technology practices among U.S. counties. “Congratulations to this year’s
winners for their work to continually innovate in an ever- changing technology landscape and
proactively address citizen demands and expectations,” said Center for Digital Government
Executive Director Todd Sander.

In the category of counties with a population of 500,000 or more, Snohomish County finished in
a tie for 7th place with Baltimore County, Maryland, and Pierce County, Washington. This
category is among the most competitive as it included the very largest counties in the nation.
Snohomish County previously won awards in this national competition taking honors in 2004,
2006, 2007, and 2013.

Snohomish County was honored for its overall excellence in the use of technology to better
serve its residents. The survey emphasized the wide range of services available, county vision
for service delivery, and the availability of online/mobile information. Gage Andrews,
Information Services Director remarked, “I am proud of the work employees do every day on
behalf of county residents. Staff members work each day to ensure that we deliver the highest
level of technology innovation.”
