Snohomish County ready for annual GIS Day with free expo

Snohomish County uses GIS data every day to provide excellent customer service to people. Find out more about this fascinating work at the 2015 GIS Day Expo, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18 in the Robert J. Drewel Building on the county campus in downtown Everett. The expo is free and is a companion event to the National GIS Day, a global movement to bring universities, government agencies, schools, non-profits, and GIS professionals together to build knowledge of GIS in their communities, and create understanding about the world we live in.

GIS Day provides an international forum for users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society. Interactive mapping applications, live demonstrations, vendor exhibitions and map galleries will provide a snapshot of how GIS technology has been implemented at Snohomish County for the past 20 years.

Throughout the expo, vendors and Snohomish County employees will be providing interactive demonstrations of GIS applications and examples of real world GIS platforms. The event has been organized by GIS analysts from several county departments, as well as cities and utility agencies within the county.
