Snohomish County Executive Somers Announces Hiring of Trever Esko as Director of Department of Information Services

Everett, Snohomish County, January 26, 2015—Today, Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers announced that Trever Esko has been hired as the county’s Director for Information Services. Mr. Esko most recently led IT business service efforts in King County, and he has focused on improving customer service and satisfaction.

“We have a critical need to improve customer service in Snohomish County, and we are very pleased to have recruited someone with Trever’s experience improving the tools residents use to access essential county services,” said Executive Somers.

Mr. Esko will act as the Chief Information Officer for the county, managing a staff of information technology professionals. The county has won four national “Digital Counties” awards for technical innovation and business leadership over the last ten years.

Snohomish County is the third largest county in Washington by population. It has a diverse environment, including urban areas, high mountains, Puget Sound, rivers, and abundant forestland. It is the location for the world’s largest building by volume (Boeing) and home for the largest manufacturing plant in the region. Snohomish County government employs approximately 2,500 people and is responsible for such vital services as criminal justice (e.g. sheriff’s office, prosecuting attorney, jail, and courts), Paine Field, public works, human services (e.g. mental health services, addiction treatment, and elderly care), land use permitting and enforcement, and parks.
