About
Esperance Park is a 9.6 acre community park with athletic fields, sand volleyball court and a playground. Second growth forest with primitive trails covers the northwest corner of the park. Athletic fields include a little league baseball diamond and two practice areas for field sports.
Important note: Esperance Park is CLOSED during its redevelopment and enhancement. — please visit the current projects page for more information.
The Esperance Park property was formerly owned by the Edmonds school district. In the late 1980’s the land was to be surplused and sold for housing development. A community activist group, The Action Council for Esperance (ACE), successfully petitioned the County to acquire the site for a community park. In 2009, significant renovations and upgrades to the baseball field area were completed. The adjacent 3.4 acre parcel was purchased from the Edmonds school district in 2016.
