1. Where is the County Clerk's Office and what are the business hours?

The Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court is located in Room M206 in the County Courthouse at:

and a satellite office, for juvenile matters only, is located at the Denney Juvenile Justice Center:

The main office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except legal holidays.

The hours for the Denney Juvenile Justice Center Clerk's Office are 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. closed from noon-12:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, except legal holidays.

2. How do I get copies of documents and how much do they cost?

Copies of documents filed in Superior Court cases may be obtained from the Clerk of the Superior Court through a mail request or electronically through the State Digital Archives.

Certified copies cost $5 for the first page of the document and $1 for each additional page. You may also make your own non-certified copies in the main lobby of the Clerk’s Office at $.25 per page.

If requesting copies by mail, be sure to include the appropriate fee in the form of a cashier’s check or money order as well as a self-addressed stamped envelope. Mail a money order or cashier’s check payable to Snohomish County Clerk’s Office to:

3. How do I make a payment on a Superior Court case?

To make a payment on a Superior Court case you can do one of the following:

• Pay online via our website or by phone 1-855-873-9713 (Criminal cases only).
• Mail a money order or cashier’s check payable to Snohomish County Clerk’s Office: 3000 Rockefeller Avenue M/S 605 Everett, WA 98201
• Pay via credit / debit card in person with valid picture identification, cash, or cashier’s check / money order at the Snohomish County Clerk’s Office: 3000 Rockefeller Avenue 2nd Floor, Mission Building Everett WA 98201
• Please include your 9-digit Snohomish County Superior Court case number. If you are unsure of your case number please go to the Washington State Courts’ website.

4. What is the date, time, and/or place of my Superior Court hearing?

Information regarding hearings in Superior Court cases can be found by visiting the Washington State Courts' website or from the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court by calling 425-388-3466, or by using one of the public access terminals located in our main lobby.

5. Where do I file Superior Court documents?

Documents for Superior Court cases may be filed in person in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court or by mailing them to Snohomish County Clerk’s Office:

6. How can I set a court date for my Superior Court case?

A court date for a Superior Court case may be set by filing a calendar note with the Clerk of the Superior Court. Calendar notes are a county specific form and you should be sure to use the Snohomish County form to ensure that you are scheduled on the proper calendar. For more information call 425-388-3466.

7. How do I set a hearing for a Dependency case?

To schedule a contested dependency hearing, contact the Dependency Clerk by email or by telephone at 425-388-7981. Please ensure that when calling or emailing, you provide your Superior Court case number. Hearings are set for Mondays and Wednesdays at 2 p.m. (limited to three families) and 3 p.m. (limited to four families); after obtaining a hearing date, it is the responsibility of the moving party to file a calendar note and any supporting motion(s) and/or affidavit(s). No confirmation is needed; the filing of the calendar note confirms the scheduled date.

To continue or strike a date for a dependency hearing, contact the Dependency Clerk by email or by telephone at 425-388-7981 at least two days prior to the hearing. Please ensure that when calling or emailing, you provide your Superior Court case number.

8. Do you have legal forms?

Forms packets are available from the Clerk's Office and from most office and legal supply stores, or legal messenger services. There are no civil forms available in the Law Library or online.

9. I don’t know what to do. Can you give me any legal advice?

Clerk’s staff are precluded by law from providing any type of legal advice or guidance. Information regarding domestic proceedings is available, by appointment only, from the Courthouse Facilitators in Room C-125 of the County Courthouse.

10. Can you tell me the status of or what happened in a case?

The status of most Superior Court cases is public information, unless the matter has been sealed by court order or is a confidential matter such as adoptions, and is available for review in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court. Information can also be found by visiting Washington Courts - Search Case Records. Limited information is available by phone by calling (425)388-3466.

11. Can you tell me if a person has any cases filed against them, or me?

Information regarding only Snohomish County Superior Court Cases filed against or by any individual is available for review in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court. 12. Can you help me fill out my papers?

Most litigants find they can fill out the paperwork by following the directions provided in the forms packet. Clerk's staff can only provide assistance in the very limited area of Petitions for Protection Orders and reviewing Domestic Relations forms for completeness and compliance with court rules and statutes through the Courthouse Facilitators.

13. Can you recommend an attorney who will take my case?

The Clerk's staff cannot recommend attorneys. The Snohomish County Bar Association has a Lawyer Referral Service through which you may get names and addresses of attorneys. Their office is located in the Snohomish County Courthouse on the second floor. Their office hours are 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and telephone number is (425)388-3018.
